I've been kitesurfing for quite a while now, using an old AR 3.5 9m2 in 4 lines and lately a custom board 150x38 wake style, weigh 78kg. I've checked some new stuff around and i was wondering what would be a better option between a Fone magic 12 or a toro 12, in terms of construction, relaunchability and wind range????

The Toro is made from Dacron, the material prefered by everybody now. The F-one is polyfuse, a material Naish dropped in favor of Dacron. I don't know anything about the way a Magic flies. The Toro flies good.

I have a TORO 12 and love it! It flies great, relaunches easily, and is TOUGH!
I would reccomend it to anyone. Very steady, predictable, and responsive...
Go for it!

Tripman, I've been on the Toro kites for a few months and what can I say.....smooth, forgiving, jumps well. I have flown slings, aeros, hydros and I always come back to my toros. Don't know much about magic, maybe they have some tricks up their sleeves
. My weight is 180 lbs and I'm on 16, 12, and 10. Good luck with your selection. Jimbo (From LA)

Never heard magic about the magic, but very good things about the Toro.
So, I'd say get the Toro. I have a Toro8 and like it very much.

Neither. Go try as many diferent kites as you can before you by. You have a big change in performance comming no matter what you do, but find the type of kite that suits you the best. The 9m converted to four line will pale in comparison to both speed and feel of your new kite. You will be amazed at the amount of depowering avaliable with a new kite ( not so much with the North), as for the Magic...I have not tried it. You may find you are underpowered on a 12m kite. What windspeeds do you usually sail in? Your old kite travels slowly through the air compared to a performer so you may find that with the faster kites you need alot bigger size.
Try before you buy.
Aloha Royce.

I use to kite in 12/13 knots min (best 15/22) 'til... switch to windsurf with wave board and 5m2 so around 25knots. BUT i've already tried some other kites like aeros 14(don't like, it's a truck), rhino 12 and 9.3 (ok but not enough power). So i'm thinking about trying to test the toro, appears in flight as pretty powerful and fast...

One line Micky Mouse with 80 meter lines er maybe my 90 meter Donald Duck for light wind days!
I can even smoke from my bong on the beach while Marley explains his theory on Jumping to me.

I prefer the Toro over the Magic. I sell and ride both and the North kites are way more advanced than the F-One's. The F-One Mach 1 is a great kite however. Huge wind range but a trickier relaunch.
