It's good to read I am not alone in not jumping right country.

I think I do the edging en jumping at the wrong moment.

As I do understand it now You edge extremely (how extreme, does your back hit the water before you jump?), then jump when the kite is right in front of you or a bit further, then hang around and shout, then send the kite forward just a split second before the landing.

Do I get it??

but when nicely powered up and jumping with a lot of hangtime (e.g. when hooked in both loops) WHERE do you put the kite and WHEN do you pull the kite down again?

Mabu,
It depends on a lot of things, kite size is one major thing. with bigger kites as soon as you Leave the water you need to pull forward again. Other kites sennd back, straighten, bring above you, when you start decending bring the kite forward - the faster you bring it forward again the faster you'll be travelling on landing...

You reverse the kite hard with it at 11:00 O'clock, or 1:00 O'clock depending on the direction you are riding. You want to dig your edge extra hard during that 1-2 seconds when the kite is moving from 11:00 to 12:00 O'clock. You must fight the kite pull hard with a solid edge, or the kite will win the pulling contest and throw you into a high speed down wind jump. The better you dig your edge, the more vertical the kite will throw you. You don't want to dig your edge extra hard for a LONG time. This will cause you to be leaning way back by the time the kite lifts you. This is bad. You only need to have the edge dig in for 1 second to get a good jump. You can just stomp the tail and feel the pop off the water, when the timing is perfect.

A good idea is look at the kite of a good kiter. Look the path the kite describes. Then look at hand and bar positions.
Board always looking downwind.

Is easier to nail a good jump in powered conditions than in marginal winds. Light winds gaves you less height but also harder landings.
(usually you start practicing in light winds)
Practice a good day, with less kite movement you will get better results.

Words are nice and kitings fun
when your in the air the talkings done
get a string and fix a weight swing it round
and consentrate.
Look and learn you'll find solutions
when you in the air your ass is "NEWTONS".

I was in a similar position to you a few months ago never dropped kite and as soon as started jumping kite kept falling from the sky. Also some times the jumps would be goood and some times really low and fast. More errors will make you work out the fastest way trial and error. Its fun learning on your own. Have to agree with the part about send the kite forwards again as soon as but you will not go as high as if you send it back further. One thing I use is the pressure on the bar trying to keep the bar preesure more constant a sudden loss in power from the kite + pull from the bar must mean the kite has stalled, as soon as you feel any lightness in the bar then pull really hard with one hand to try and recover some line tension.
