More riders are using some version of this type of system. Has anyone used the new Flysurfer Quick Release yet? How do they perform? Here is link to see.

Many people also use the Tyleska shackle:

I'm trying to decide which one to go with.

I'm using a shackle too, but I'm not 100% sure,if I will get out of it. It is great riding without having to worry getting out of the depower, specially when your overpowered.
Maybe you should use both.
The Flysurfer Quick Realease is great and works

Here the North Inc shackle

you still should use a harness hook for the normal loop. Being in the normal loop gives you more airtime while jumping

the flysurfer chickenloop looks to me, like it's 100% working.
armin harich (from flysurfer)
told, that in the beginning it may happen that you hook into the release-strap and open the system by accident.
but you can put it together it without any problems on the water.

the loop might be too big for some riders - i always liked it

I think the tylaska costs too much. Have you seen how the americans charge so much more for everything. I mean, compare kite prices from U.S. stores to stores in Europe, Australia, New Zealand. Sometimes there are 400 US dollar differences. I understand it is a strong snap shackle, but it is just too much. NSI in general is too expensive, the bar costs 190 us. Do you guys also think they charge too much?

Well, compared to the prices in some European coutries, others are charging a lot. In general the kites are very expensive.
But the shackle I use costs abouit 50 USD as well. And this is ok if it is lasting material and a system that works.

Please help an overburdened Yank consumer by telling me where I can buy kitegear online in Europe (or wherever) at better prices than I find here? I would be StOkED  but you know what I mean! If you could hook me up with links to $$$ saving English version online kiteshops, I'd be really, really happy!

Dude,
http://www.kite.net.au is really cheap for peter lynn stuff, and I think naish too. The prices on his site, you take 10% off because of the australian tax. He ships for free when you buy anything above 100 aud. I live in Mexico, no kiteshops, and he sent the kite to mexico, great service, nice guy. http://www.anabatic.co.nz is pretty good, http://www.kitepower.com.au says he'll equal any price by a competitor. Traig trumbo at http://www.monkeyair.com in Malibu, great prices for arcs and underground boards. Check them out, contact them, decide for yourself.
