how's launching it for the first time?
i've seen smaller warriors shooting into the sky after one pull at the bar with minimal pre-filling. and i've seen a 9m mastair in 20+knots that just didn't want to start (we had to prefill it about 5minutes and 3 tries till it finally went up)

Hallo murdoc,
I fly the Warriors since winter time on snow and compared to the MastAirs, the smaller Warriors nearly need no preinflation. I did not preinflate MastAirs (only had the 9) really, too, but it took some time to fly figure 8s to fill it up.
We preinflated the 16.5 yesterday, but you just hold it up for 15 seconds and it is ready for the launch. Very easy. I guess that it is easier, because there is no mesh in front of the leading edge openings. I would have tried just to pump it up by pulling the bar but the conditions were not ideal and there was little space for mistakes.

Hi to everybody. I've been out with my brother last sunday. He was on a Warrior 16.5 and I had a BT 12.2 - The Warrior flyes greatly from 5 knots while my BT didn't want to take off at all. In the water the Warrior 16.5 provide at least 20% more power of the BT 12.2 and still hold 15/17 knots (80 kg rider/TT 150 CM) ! !
Judging from what I've seen and from my brother impressions, I thinks its a great kite, I will ask him to report his impression on the web. (INCREDIBLE!! WATERSTART IN NO TIME)
Cheers

Hi Toby,
My brother said it jumps greatly. Did't test it too much because too overpowered in the first session, but once on the air the air time is serious. I saw him jumping many time on his Warrior 9.3 and if any proportion exhists the 16.5 takes off like a plane.
I will get back after some session.
thanks

Is this the first release of the warrior 16.5 or just the 2003 model? I thought this foil had been used for a while?

Hello, how can you compare sizes foil and LEI? Etc. Flysurfer Warrior 16,5 is it same size as LEIs Trueflat area or projected area?
If i compare projected area Warrior 16,5 has 15,4 projected then same size LEI has to be over 20m2 flatarea. Thats huge kite.

flysurfer.be posted to an old post. Check the dates.
The 16.5 has been out for a long time.
The video of the psycho can be seen in bigger format at kitesyndikat.de
The 16.5 is the same power as a 20sqm inflatable. Maybe more. Can be used in lighter wind because it is lighter than a same power inflatable.
Best regards,
Marc
