First, is this really true? It was before the X4 and V4 came out, but now?

Second, if it is true it just represents the direction that kite design and contests are moving. The same qualities that make the Boxer such a great all around kite (stability, range, depower, forgiving pull) are the same things that allow competitors to pull off dicey sick moves and recover from slight mistakes. Basically, it makes you look good.

We need to stop thinking of low/med/hi aspect as beginner/intermediate/expert. Instead we'll have contest kites, beginner kites, all-around kites, jumping kites, wave kites, kids' kites, etc. Contest and all-around kites (or even beginner kites) might be the same thing.

The boxer is a no brainer, easy to use easy to fly just plain easy, there are other brands that do the job just as well.

Most other Naish kites need the flyer to be in complete control all the time and does not forgive the smallest mistake which is good if your fantastic at kite skills.

Take the V4 and the X4 out then try the Boxer, you will find the Boxer super easy and forgiving to fly. Each bit of kit will find it's own level depending how quick you want to get there and how hard you want the spanking to be.

guys fly what they fly, you know, if a docile steady kite is whats required to make up for the lack of true control riders have doing power moves then thats what they will ride.

hats off to the guys hucking the wakestyle stuff on high aspect kites though, thats gnarly...even if every friggin handle pass looks exactly the same and is totally uninteresting for bystanders to watch.

Never flew the boxer, but if I were a pro, I would not be cought dead with a V-4. They just don't fly right.
