hehehehehehe...funny funny guy. Check this out eh?....
"Next they have added another new line of boards thats called the SX Division as mentioned by John Doyle in his latest interview. The SX is a Skate series board mix. It's another....."

That is an excerp for the latest news article written on the news page of http://www.tampabaykitesurf.com. Maybe read that first? As far as pictures, none available just yet, but they're on the way. Go check that news page, it gives description of what to expect from the board.

I'm sponsored by Slingshot. I read that interview with Doyle and talked to the owner of the shop here about them. He has pics... but I figured some of you guys would have some that I could see before I get off work.... I love the Drake but want something a bit wider. They say these boards will be much wider.

These boards will be black and gray/silver with the Slingshot "Star" logo emblazoned on the deck with silver smoke-trail across. They're pretty cool looking. I can scan one in for you if you wish tonight if no one else has a picture. Just email me at vytas@chicagokitesurfing.com tonight if you want me to.

Also the spec sheet in the 2003 catalogue is incorrect for these boards. The boards are depicted as having the same width as the Jarvis/Drake "skate series", but they are actually wider and more square in the ends. Its more of a wave board, hance the name "SX Surf" series.

I'll have actual pictures this weekend (I should). I'm very much looking forward to demoing these boards.

Their ya go! Pics of the graphics for the board. Not so sure that this is the board though. My last meeting with the Slingshot crew was at the sail expo that just passed, and there they told me that they didn't have a production model of the SX series yet. When I asked them then what is that board in the corner with the logo and design as shown in this picture above, they told me that it was really just a Drake with the graphics that are going to be used on the SX boards. When I compared it to the Drake, I found this to be true. However, they did have 2 SX boards there for me to check out, but they were not production boards and they had no graphics on them, just blue boards. They were hand done by Doyle, but they were basically what the SX series would look like. And it's basically as V has told you here. Wider and set up kinda for surf. These MAY BE pics of the boards...they certainly look a bit wider, but it's hard to tell from a photo what has been done to it. I seem to recall the SX series being shorter and wider than this pic and with a bit different ends. Anyway, I'm talking to John Doyle this weekend, so I will find out what's the deal on them and if they have any production models made yet.

I talked with John Doyle last July when I was sitting on a bench at Rufus. He said the SX 136 would have the same wind range as the Drake since it was wider. It will be able to accept binding or footpads. And he said it would plane up easier. Haven't tried it myself though.

Guys, the SX boards in the photo I posted are from the 2003 Slingshot Dealer Manual.

TBKS, the board shape is definitely not the Drake, in comparison, with the Drake being narrower, longer, and more round at the tips. Looking at them side by side I can't see it. Maybe the show had something different - I didn't go since we had a downwinder scheduled for that weekend.

The photos were of boards, too. There's usually last-minute changes, though. Since you're going to call Doyle, I'll wait to talk to them, myself. The specs in the Manual are definitely incorrect, with the SX having a wider shape as mentioned previously.

I was told I may see an SX this weekend. I'll find out more about that, too.
