Kite surfing in December

Postby Random » Wed Jul 21, 2004 11:35 am

I'm planning a 3 week kitesurfing holiday in December and am thinking of South East Asia, either thailand or vietnam.
Has anyone been kiting in December at either of these places?
Whats the wind consistensy like?
How would I get on on a Psycho 2 13m? (would I be powered enough to have fun?)
(I weigh about 75kgs)
Thanks muchly!

Random, the spot I organise trips to Los Roques is incredible probably one of the best in the world, it's where space monkeys was filmed, you don't have to fly to asia just caracas or porlamar, send me an email with length of stay number of people to send price, thanks

I was in thailand and vietnam over christmas and new year last year. Thailand sucked... in 12 days only 2 with wind, and you had to work that. vietnam on the other hand, fantastic, i only went to mui ne, but wind 8 days out of 10, starting at around 8 to 10 knots in the morning, sometimes getting up to 25 by mid afternoon.... 13 m would probably be to big here most of the time.....

good flying...

Agree with the last post - Vietnam's Mui ne is the best bet.

I live in Thailand an so far this year (our wind year is just beginning) it has been a stellar one! Wind every weekend, both days - much better than last year, which was a very off year.

Another spot to consider is Boracay.
