attaching a leash?

i use a jarvis and i know it's bad to ride with a leash, but how would i attach a leash to it. could i try to atttach a d-ring from one of the holes that the fins go threw? would that hurt the board with that pressure on just one hole? right now i just attach the leash threw the center grab handle. thanks

Center grab handle is worst place for it. Attach it to one or two of the screws for the fins. Paul should be able to advise you on this. Where is he at?

The best way to attach a leash to the Jarvis is to put some good webbing material between the two back most fins and then attach the leash to the webbing. This way the board pulls better and you distribute the weight across the fins.

Forget a leash...they can serverly handicap or kill you. I'd rather lose a board in the surf than...lose my head.
You can always buy another board...

thanks for the info, i think i might be riding with paul sunday. i'll ask him if the shop has anything that would work. btw i use an 8 foot longboard leash so if it comes off it's usually really far away. thanks again.

I found that you can use the extra machine screw strap insert and a beefy screw too fix a short heavy duty lead to the bungee loop and then make a keeper out of q-line that loops thru center fin holes or spans the rear deck and to both outside fin screws, this not only is the john holmes solution, but makes a place to store booties in summer, just park and puttum back on before beaching? not recomended for board twirlers or hard core landings. ps, [john holmes was is a usa porn star with a prodigious phallis.]

With a Jarvis, the best place to put the leash is at your car!! These boards are dangerous. Be sure you have sanded the rails. They are sooo sharp. Is not a design issue, is a construction problem.
Doyle himself say "sand them".

most leashes end in a piece of heavy webbing where a line is fixed which then would be knodded into the leashplug.

take the line out and get a hoe into the webbing. (a soldering iron works good for this job).
take out one of the fin-screws and place this webbing between board and washer.

or do it like described above: a longer piece of webbing, two holes, fit @ the two finsrcews and place the leash in the middle of this piece. .. .
