Got this from Flysurfer yesterday, my Dutch is a bit rusty but they are saying they've clocked 13.2 sec hang-time with the psycho.
Anyone know how close is this to what the pros are doing on LEIs?

Beste Kiteboarders,

De PSYCHO zet nieuwe maatstaven in spronghoogtes, hang-time (13.2 sec. reeds geklokt) & safety,
en zal vriend en (foil-) vijand vast en zeker dichter bij elkaar brengen...

As far as I know Sebastien Catellan holds the world record with something around 10 seconds.

So it looks like the last walls of "tube-world" are falling down.

Yup, I heard the rumor too. 13.5 was what I originally heard, but 13.2 is also decent  Inside info at FS tells me that they are making absolutely sure to have the jump clocked (timed) as accurately as possible before releasing the flick. Soon, peoples, soon...

In the mean time, here is a little pic I took yesterday of my kiting bud, taunting the Psycho 12.5 into action, in 14 - 15 knots...

Image

About an hour earlier, with the wind just picking up, at 10 - 11 knots, we were the ONLY ONEs on the water, that managed to stay upwind. The X2 14m and 16m riders were doing a lot of walking, while we effortlessly maintained the line... AB 11.8's did not even bother launching, and I was screaming with joy

Dear Kiteboarders,

Many requests have been made to organise another big Flysurfer Test & Demoday, unfortunately we can't do this this season anymore.

However we will be available at Katwijk aan Zee tomorrow with 2 Flysurfer Riders to give a small demonstration with Flysurfers' new kite: the Psycho!

You're invited to come.

The PSYCHO sets new measurements in jump heights, hang-time (13.2 sec. already clocked) & safety, and will bring friend and (foil-) enemy surely closer together...

With friendly greetings and hopefully we'il see u tomorrow,

The date in the email message is wrong,
a correction email had been sent out right afterwards.
The correct date was yesterday: 19th of october not the 29th of september.

Anyway the day went on nicely, they had some very bad weather in the morning and beginning of the afternoon, but later it cleared up and the wind became more steady.
(In the morning we had 5min. lulls of 2bft, then near a rain cloud 1min. of6bft.)

For caution about the weather only smaller kites were used on the water. (9.5&12.5)
In 4 bft. The 2 Psycho's on the water were the only guys who remained their height in the strong current. All tubes had to walk back upwind until the wind became more stronger in the end of the afternoon. (5bft)

The FS rider with the 12.5 made some high and floaty jumps and came down very soft. Most funny thing too see is the pumping of the bar while going up in a jump, it just increases and lenghtens the jump.
Must see to believe.

Greetings from a local kiter.
