Changing depower rope on the SLingshot bar

I want to change the depower rope on my Slingshot bars to have a longer depower range and trim range. Has anyoe done this? What's the best rope to use? The original bar setup uses loose weave rope and the bottom part that goes through the bar, from the chicken loop to the trim cleat, is two pieces of this one inside the other. The outer rope is longer and goes on up through the trim cleat to the ball on the end while the inner one stiffens the bottom part that slides through the bar.
Should I use the same method or just use a single firm rope?
Any ideas?

Jo the proper rope is the one that fits your trim cleet, you have the one with the wheel i hope, if so try 5/16 its 1/16 oversize but makes a bomber never get stuck mannly trim rope.

Yeah, I did it. I just went to Boat USA and grabbed some 5/16ths sheet rope that was highly resistant to abrasion. It was really cheap and I grabbed a huge lot of it. The first replacement lasted me 50 sessions, or so. My original was one piece, and since I use a shackle now, I just tied it over the end with a knot and it took 5-10 minutes, tops...

Jo,

I used Prolimit chicken loop with rope and power/depower strap on my Fuel 140 02. Mostly because I didn't like the original 'ball type" of depower strap, which really sucks. The new system has a much bigger power/depower strap as well as power/depower line on the chicken-loop. It also comes with a snapscahle includeed (not a Wichard though).

Total cost was around 40 EURO.
