Hi Guys, thx a lot for all the nice birthday wishes. That was really nice of you.

Unfortunately I can't contribute much to the forum presently, but here is a pic of me riding in La Gouna, which is about 40 min drive from Hurgada, Egypt.

The next days I will have pics of the spot directly at the Colona Watersports Center.

This was our wind sor far:
1st day 4-5
2nd 4-5
3rd around 5, later 4-5 and 4
Today 5-6.5

Very important: forget the forecasts, or you would never come down here.
The first days they had a forecast of 1-2, yesterday 3 and today 3 as well.

Here we have termical winds, so no forecast will show that!!!

Beautiful water, better than on the picture, but I will show you more pictures soon.

I will also give you my and others impressions on the North Rhino2 12 and 16, and the Gaastra GXR 16.5.

Keep enjoying the forums and be nice to each other...

Is that El Gouna?
Looks pretty good to me. I'll be there in about two weeks, what beach was that photo taken? And is it any good for beginners? I mean, shallow water, not toooo busy with kiteboarders?? Cause i'm already happy if i can stay on my board for about 30 meters

Yes it is El Gouna, Mangroovy Beach just north of the city.

The water is flat and shallow, at low tide VERY shallow. The lagoon is about 200 meters wide and upwind of the umbrellas you have about 200 meters of beach for launching.

There is no rescue service so take care when you are kiting there.

Cheers,

Bengan
