X2 Stacking Video

Cool video.

My friend has been stacking Arc's for a year or so, but though inflatables was impossible. Were any x2's harmed in the making of this video, and how the hell do you do it, attachment points etc.

When we did the kite stacking i used 5 meter extension lines.
I trimmed the outer kite 2 knots tighter on the frontlines to get correct speed.
The first and last sequences has about 2-7 knots of wind.
The mid section with the surfing is from 8-13 knots.
I was too overpowered on this run. 6-11 knots would be OK.
I used a small wakeboard.
Depowering is as normal.
Relaunching is impossible.

Maybe it could work with a fith line, but it would still be very difficult.

I think that maybe with a fith line, and a sixt frontline between the two kites,
it would be better.
The new Naishes comes with a small rope on the Leading edge to hold it down as you pump.
Connecting both kites to this rope with a line,
would stabilize the chasing innerkite in the gusts.

There is many things that can go wrong here. I would only use this in onshore winds.
With no thermal uplift dangers.

stacking either of these kites would be quite scary aye mate? they both pull like a bugger and fly well. interesting thoughts.

Wow, nice. I espesstially liked the holloween segment when they both stalled and slipped backwards into the zone, lookout! ohh lookout! way cool, definetly worth whatever nightmare may loom, cool ya definenety cool! ps this is the first time ive seen an x2 flying, looks like my 02 AB,in profile, nice!!

I think my 18 X2 and my 12 X2 would give Blown aways 20m Aero a good run for it's money even on a wakeboard

Ah yes but what when about when I stack my 20m AERO and my 16m AERO.....

I could stack all my kites..... my 7 wives would look good on top of each other and me underneath

Great video,

It looks like the inner smaller kite is faster and driving the outer bigger one.

I would reverse the stacking and put the bigger one closer to the ridder and the small one on top.
The small one would be the furthest, and as it will fly the longer distance due to its arm ( more lines lenghth ) it also has to fly throught the air faster.
Small kites fly through the air faster that should work better.

Just a thought.........

What length lines go to the first kite? 20m? 10m lines for the second kite?

fabjet, I had the same thoughts when stacking my arcs but it doesn't quite work like that, by putting the smaller kite nearer the rider you get the best results.

this is because in effect the second larger kite flies from the first kite not the rider. In other words the small kite is flying on 20m lines and the large kite is only on 5m lines. It takes a while to get your head round but that the way it seems to work.
