I want to get a bigger board for light winds. The smaller board will be a Zeppelin 137 (36cm wide).
I'm still doubting what to get. A mutant or "big" twintip. I'm about 70 kg. I'm riding AB2002 11.8(will be replaced by an AMP11.9) and 8.4 and a Toro8.
Reply with which kind(Mutant or TT) and which size(length en width). If possible name a specific board.
It's wintertime(mostly a lot of wind) so I have enough time to figure things out.

Hi Sake, im using a 7' (210 cm) Naish Skypirate directional, great in 7-10 knots but I just relieved my mate of his Mahogany deck custom 147 x 45 WT style TT, can't wait to try it, I'll let you know. He seemed to do ok, good upwind, maybe a bit less of an apparent wind builder in really light stuff than the bigger directional and with les volume it'll probably be more prone to lulls too, but the jumps in 8-12 will be a no contest match.

147 x 43 Smorgastboard like custom.
(same outline more continuous rocker)
range: 8-15. great pop, good edging, make gusty winds feels steady.
I have an idea of making a super lightwind board. 180 x 52 TT superflat rocker with lifted ends. The outline would be like a malibu surfboard. Thin tucked rails and some volume in the center (3,5cm). Epoxi-Styro contruction for weight savings. Thruster little fins setup and 4 footstraps so you have two posible directional like stances. Perhaps it could be rided without footstraps in very light 6-10 knots winds. It would be fun but 300.

Looking at the reactions in this forum and others, my conclusion is following:
Hardly anybody advises Mutants, but wide TT's instead. Looking at the fact that I want to do more then just cruising(loops a.o.), a small but wide TT would be my solution.
I've visited 2 shops and it seems that in 2003 there will be a lot of boards that should suit. I'm only restricted by what the dealers nearby offer.
What about Slingshot SX series, North Robo140? Any other (max 145, >39 wide, flat shape)
What would be the maximum width I(70kg) should take, to handle it in up to 20knots of wind? 40, 41?
