Hi Toby,
have you ever try Stonker boards?
If yes, tell me what you think.
If you talk about Stonker I guess you are from Australia?

I never tried stonker yet, but they are available in many countries.
I'm from Germany and the boards are available here.
But I want to try the Highway to Hell to be able to judge it. I don't think it is a good idea, since a good board doesn't need four footstraps or like other TT's a fifht fin. Maybe Stonker wanted to do something different as the others. We will see.
If anyone else tested it yet, let us know.

Only by the look of the outline you can tell something.
But you have to have it in your hands and then ride it, in order to tell if a board runs good or not.
Some people will be able by watching it to tell, if it will be a good board or not.
Don't judge by the design and colors. Colors means weight, which is not an advantage.

I just got two boards, the Shark 180 cm asymetrical and the 205 cm Stonker Classic along with all fins, bindings, leashes, a board bag, a kitesurfing harness and even some magazines. The gear was expertly packed arrived in the US from Oz in a few days after ordering. All the parts were there, assembly was quick and easy. All this for $426.50 USD under thier recent Intro Offer!!!

The boards are well made of epoxy sandwich constrution and have nice shapes. I am very impressed by Stonker.

I don't know if the offer is still going but if you need a board you might check it out.

Rick

the shark is a good running TT as far as i know - funny fact is that you can turn it around and ride on the former toeside which is 20cm shorter.

but i'm curious about the H2H - a wake which can be ridden in directional stance sounds cool for waves!

I find it on
http://www.kite-surf.com/

Stonker 160/140 Shark Polyester Shark

Bites into the water very well. Board could be a little bit wider as I have heel drags in small chop using the standard Stonker foot straps. Switched to the Koch strap and that problem seems to have gone away. The pads aren't as slippery as the new pads coming out on the Epoxy models.

I ride the 180/160 in 6 - 8 knots with a 16m FreeAir and the 160/140 in anything above with either a 16m FreeAir or the 11m FreeAir.

Only problem thus far is with the concave bottom. If you get pulled flat before leaving the water in a jump the concave bottom tends to "suck" to the water meaning you jump still but the board stays behind
