dan,

any problems with grip when the knife is oily? it sounds like something to be wary of, especially for use in the water.

I wrapped the handle of mine with stick on Velcro (loops side) after cleaning the surface with alchohol. It's still stuck on good and makes a nice grip. Then I sewed a patch of the hook side velcro to the tab part of the holster. That holds the handle flat against the tab so that it's not as likely to snag on lines or other gear rubbing against it.
If you do this, leave a bare strip down the side of the handle where your fingertips will first want to slip under the edge. This makes it more likely that your fingertips will wrap under it, and not just slide across it...in a panic

when you insert the knife into the holster...do so in a way that puts the Tit...errr nipple...eeerr...sorry Toby!... the Protruberance at the end of the handle, under your pinky finger.

Hope this makes sense.

I rinse my harness everey time I duck under the shower after a session and greased the da Kine knife, it broke first time i sued it (that was supposed to have been "used it" but what an apt typing error).

I asked Ramon at Flysurfer Nl about the Jack and he said there have been reliability probs with this one too.

Hey we could use big no-shit divers knives strapped to our biceps, with a pair of Flash military stylee kite pantees, bet that'd get the girls goin (depends on the girl, maybe goin fast the other way) and keep the windsurfers outta the way.
