Adjustable rocker table you can make cheap!

Postby kiteboardingcentral.com » Fri Feb 25, 2005 5:57 pm

Alright, well I'll get some pictures especially since I'm making a new one of these in like 30 minutes but here's what you'll need.

Plywood (depending on size of table you want)
1"x1"
2x4's or other means of adjustment which I'll work on.
Formica, same size as top of table.

This should really only take you a little bit to make since it's VERY simple.

Just cut out the plywood to the size you want, make sure the plywood is only liek 1/4"-1/2" thick. Cut this out, and make sure there are 2 different piece of that size.

Put the one piece of plywood down, put the 1"x1" down in the exact center of it. Screw that down on the ends. The place the other piece of plywood down on top of the 1x1 directly keeping it in the middle. Screw it down more towards the center. Now just simply formica the top (I'm not explaining this whole process, just google it if you need to)

Now to make adjustments you can just put 2x4s under the ends between the top and bottom layer.

Simple, isn't it?

Just got back from making one... it's 4'1" long, and 26" wide.

So 124.46cm long by 66cm wide.

Enough to line up one board at a time. You can make these any way you want to.

I actually ended up using an 8' 2x4 and a 4'1"x26" piece of plywood with the same size piece of formica... pics soon.

Completely adjustable.

That isn't adjustable and it costed a lot more then what I made.

I'll get some pics soon.

EDIT: I guess I should check the pictures more closely... is that adjustable? it kinda looks like it.

Mines a really cheap easy way to make though, and it does work.

rocker table

i have made a rocker table out of 2x4s I works very well, ita ajustable, and cheaper than any table yo may have made in the past

This is waht you need aprox (2) 2x4 8' , and weights

you make a rectange with the 2x4s to around 2 feet longer than the size of a typical board you will make, in the center of the rectangle put a 2x4 then put a 2x4 inside the rectangle at the point you want you rocker to start, now take a 2x4 but it on top of the rectange at the point were the tails of the board will be this is where the board will rest. now in the middle where you put the 2x4s use shims to make the rocker the size you want. Take you weights and weigh down the board. and thats about it.

Woked well for me and the most this will cost you is about 5 bucks.
