Which one should I buy?

Im 85 kg and own a 19m kite from eh. Today I have a 179 stongboard (european). Way to heavy and big but it get´s me going in 8mph.

So what do you think?

Unfortynately this short & very wide consept (133 x 46) is unfamiliar to me, but I know that F-one fifty-one and mine own built 155 x 45 board works both well with 80-10 kg riders with 17-20 m2 kites. With boards/kites (F-one+100 kg+20 m2 North R4 or 80kg+155 x 45 + 17 m2 skoop2) above the wind range is 5-8 m/s - tested.

Are you looking board for for marginal light wind conditions ? If yes then the Gaastra board would be good.

Buy also set of big fins ( abt. 7-8 cm) and another set of smaller fins (4-5 cm) ! by changing the fins the board behavior changes quickly !

Lax: I'm your weight, and S___Bro; you should stop while you're ahead! I well doubt that you're going anywhere in under 8kts short of waxing up a real, surfer's Longboard. A knot or two less and that 19 is starting to fall out of the sky - not to mention; not going back up wet; blimp or not.

I would spend the $$ in the other direction - but then I don't follow anyone's advice either, so have at it. ...and let us know your results.

For a light wind board i use Litewave freestyle 145. This boards get me going and keep hight in very little wind. Its a fairly big board with a with of 43 cm.

best float 135 x 44cm, light and big, planes up early and takes a lot of wind at the high end for such a big board.


fat blokes can fly has one and he's heavy....100kg+

SQ's right I love my new board and for me being heavy its the best board I've come across since my old north robo, but i believe the float points further upwind and rails harder including gets me going earlier! It also has a double concave which contributes to all these factors!

Its just common sense kiteboarding buy a bigger board which is a half the price of a big kite and utilize your smaller kites. My float seriously rocks with my nemi 14m + lots of fun due to turning speed, i use the 14 when i could also be on my 20's. Bizarre i know but its fun!!!
