Underground five foot and five foot eight inch diretionals

Postby MonkeyAir » Tue Mar 22, 2005 10:15 am

Just spent a day on the protos of these boards. Great plaining and super surfy feel. Adrian has it going on with these. Not excessive rocker like som many other diretionals. Maintains momentum through surfing with a parked kite. Linking moves for heavy guys is a challenge. This board does it. Mild concave with a well back foot strap position over the fins where you would have your foot while surfing. Someone actually surfs in NZ where they design these things. Stoked on the first day. Sick graphic as well. Real babe you don't want to put pads over. Going to try larger fins on the five footer and word is they will narrow the stance a bit to accomodate average size riders. Would hope they get a larger one piece pad to allow easier gybing. They have the new nice but not the application twin tip dual density pad on the five footer. A thinner pad over the entire deck would be the application. People will pull their feet out of the straps and walk on the decks of these boards. They are just too much fun. Light and great surfy rails as well.
Have Fun.

you got any pictures of it?

Is it like flx construction or surfboard. I can't imagine a directional thats thin like a flx.

It is a beefier construction than a surtech (sandwich skin) with a dense foam rail as not to soak up water if dinged. About half the thickness of a conventional surfboard. Not FLX thin. The Firebirds could get away with this in the FLX construction as they are small mutants.
Nother day on the board yesterday. Very impressed with the diretionals.
Have Fun. Traig
