painting questions

o.k....we learnt how to make boards, vacuum and all the stuff...
now the finish and painting questions ?
painting the airex not seem like a good idea...
we tried to paint with acrylic/and cars paints but it doesn't stick to the
epoxy glass
do i need a primer ? special paints ?

Yes you need to primer first the board.

I usually use the same primer that is used by automotive industrie.
The primer is used to smoth the surface and to incre ade the adision of the base coat to the board.

first you have to do a skim coat of red lspot puddy which bondo makes and you can get at any automotive store, then once you sand that realy good and get it perfect you can prime the board then lightly sand, prime it again lightly sand, then paint, do a simple design the more complex you make it the more screwed up it will look. after the first coat of paint wet sand the board then do you second coat and then put a clear coat on. If you do this you will have a sick looking ride.
