Yes. Higher AR will be more prone due to the kite flying further toward the edge of the window. Suble changes in wind will affect kites more the further at the edge it flies. Since its "wind footprint" is smaller, a higher AR kite will also be more of a challenge to recover.

if luffing higher aspect kites are more likely to.

though nearly all of 2002 kites were really good compared to last years in this respect.

why would a low apect kite have a greater risk of lofting?

generally lower Ar kites have more lift, can handle less wind and fly further back in the window

However I would say it depends a lot more on how much kite your holding in what wind, what sort of gust hits it and where it is in the window

i disagree strongly.

have you all forgotton how your 20m aero will pick you up and spit you out on a gusty day when your 20m x2 is easy to handle.

explain why the kite with the least vertical lift when static would have the greater tendency to pick you up. higher aspect kites are less efficient vertical lift producing wings when staitc and they have greater depower, typically.

fire them up at an angle yeh, off you go but thats not lofting, thats being dragged down the beach overpowered.

Because lower AR kites sit back more. Higher AR lift is more perpendicular to the ground lifting you straight up.

Besides, its an opinion...and what's the difference between being lofted 20 feet off the ground and 22 feet off the ground?

I haven't forgotten!! That 20m AERO is a fun kite in gusty stuff... no give whatsoever...

But in gusty stuff we shouldn't be holding out kites straight above us now should we?
