Well, so here's my opinion about cabarete:
It's full of really nice people, both the locals, the ones who live there and the tourists (like me!) I had a blast while I was there.
I stayed @ Agualina (right in kitebeach) it's a great hotel much MUCH MUCH better than I expected, the service, the room , the food, everything was amazing. No complaints !!! 100% recommendable, the studios on the ground level are probably the best rooms of the hotel. Recommendation: Reserve it through an operator if possible. I booked it directly with the hotel and was paying $20 to $25 more than people who did it thru an operator.
I partied @ cabarete town and had a great time, start your night @ LAX try the pizzas, shrimps and carpaccio (yes!!!! I know what you think: rwa beef in that place??? Well it's great believe me!) as you dance or drink the night away start walking upwind until you end up in bamboo or Onno's those are the places that colse the latest!!!
Kite @ kitebeach it's not as crouded as they say it is (or I was lucky) and there's not nearly half the chop than @ bozo beach. If you are a beginner and don't like the crowds head yourself 300 feet downwind or go to bozo.
For a great adventure and one of the best downwinds ever go up to la boca and ride all the way down to encuentro.
MY OPNION IS UNBIASED.
I PAID FOR MY WHOLE TRIP (AND BOUGHT MY KITES) WITH MY HARD EARNED MONEY.
If I take the time to write this is because I hope it can help someone in the future.
So don't hesitate to go to cabarete. People are friendly, there's good party, good food and lots of wind I had 9 straight days of wind (my record is 10 in la ventana)
