Unbiased Opinion (Cabarete)

Postby Paco » Mon Jul 11, 2005 9:26 am

I went on a 12 day trip to Cabarete almost 2 weeks ago and here's my story...

(Sorry it took so long for me to write it!)

But let's start with:

THINGS TO DO IN CABARETE!!!!

1 Ride in a motoconcho :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: :!: ???????
2 Down wind to encuentro
3 Down wind from la boca to kitebeach
4 Down wind from la boca to encuentro
5 Get a kitecaddy fro less than $2 a day
6 Surf in encuentro
7 Party Party Party!!!!
8 Have dinner @: LAX, Onno's, La casita, El pescador
9 Have a spicey tuna burger for lunch @ kiteclub
10 Breakfast @ Sportcafe: the freshest juices and excelent sanwiches
11 Pass out drunk in bozo beach walking back to kitebeach
12 Miss your flight back home and stayinf there for a whole more week.
13 Break a kite
14 Make friends
15 Desire a local (or at least her ass)
16 Try the halfpipe @ extreme
17 Compare all posible kte brands and models
18 Eat that discusting fried/burnt dominican chicken
19 Dirnk PRESIDENTE
20 Drink Presidente
21 and why not: drink some more presidente...
22 Hit the reef with your board
23 did I mention getting a kitecaddy for less than $2 a day???
24 write what you liked about cabarete...
25 buy a t-shirt (or get it for free)
26 find yourself some woman
27 kite kite kite
28 YES drink more presidente
29 kite kite kite
30 and last but not least: try a new trick and get the sh**t kicked out of yourself!!!!

ENJOY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well, so here's my opinion about cabarete:

It's full of really nice people, both the locals, the ones who live there and the tourists (like me!) I had a blast while I was there.

I stayed @ Agualina (right in kitebeach) it's a great hotel much MUCH MUCH better than I expected, the service, the room , the food, everything was amazing. No complaints !!! 100% recommendable, the studios on the ground level are probably the best rooms of the hotel. Recommendation: Reserve it through an operator if possible. I booked it directly with the hotel and was paying $20 to $25 more than people who did it thru an operator.

I partied @ cabarete town and had a great time, start your night @ LAX try the pizzas, shrimps and carpaccio (yes!!!! I know what you think: rwa beef in that place??? Well it's great believe me!) as you dance or drink the night away start walking upwind until you end up in bamboo or Onno's those are the places that colse the latest!!!

Kite @ kitebeach it's not as crouded as they say it is (or I was lucky) and there's not nearly half the chop than @ bozo beach. If you are a beginner and don't like the crowds head yourself 300 feet downwind or go to bozo.

For a great adventure and one of the best downwinds ever go up to la boca and ride all the way down to encuentro.

MY OPNION IS UNBIASED.
I PAID FOR MY WHOLE TRIP (AND BOUGHT MY KITES) WITH MY HARD EARNED MONEY.

If I take the time to write this is because I hope it can help someone in the future.

So don't hesitate to go to cabarete. People are friendly, there's good party, good food and lots of wind I had 9 straight days of wind (my record is 10 in la ventana)

The women were really nice, most locals have great asses and many of them superb bodies....

...No, I didn´t use the services of night caddies but they are available all over and they are pretty cheap.

It´s an amazing place I can´t wait to go back there.

We just started a few months ago our kiteschool and testcenter at Kitebeach. It is called Windwing Cabarete. It is situated next to Kiteclub Cabarete (which is the last thing at the site closed to Bozo Beach) and at the other site are two houses and next to the second house is hotel Aqualina. At the testcenter we rent out a few rooms and apartments.

You can always send us an e-mail for more info (info@hookedcabarete.com) or check the website at the page testcenter (http://www.hookedcabarete.com).

I'm sorry, but who are you? If you had any complaints, you could have just told us? Many people tell us the place looks great and we did not get any complaints, so I don't really understand this reaction.

Maybe you can just give me an e-mail to tell me what you don't like. Maybe we can do something about it. My e-mail adres is info@hookedcabarete.com
