Does anyone know why the waist harnesses keep sliding up on to your chest and choking you. It has happened to me every time I go kiteboarding the harness just slides on to your chest and starts choking you I put it on very tight but still slides up and chokes. Can I get some advise on how to fix it. Thanks

This may not be the answer but it could be.
The harness is slipping up because of your posture. Alot of times when riding chicken loop, you can start to ride more slouched over without noticing it. When I transferred over to chicken loop from two-line, I had been riding for a couple years and fairly experienced. I encountered a slow (unnoticable) slouch given the new chicken loop travel depowering the kite instead of my body (the case in 2-lining). I refered to 4 lining as the "lazy mans kite" because it did the work (de-power) for you.
If you can think of keeping your "shoulders back into the water" that will help your posture. Think of your body as a simple flat lever instead of a bent lever.
Also, your chicken loop travel may be too long for you -- causing you to slouch while riding. (arms too short = bent over)
I don't know if this answers your question but alot of times the harness slides up because you are slouched over in the direction of the power source (kite). This power then pulls the harness up into your ribs -- just like when body-draging.
I can almost promise you if you keep a good posture (shoulders back) no harness will slip up as much.. except for the occasional bail!!!!
Whatever you do, do not go to a seat harness b/c of this. Although it may aleveate this problem, it will not help you attaining better riding posture and thus, having a good back. (I am not trying to bash diaper harnesses)
For many reasons, I believe the harness is the most important piece or gear for kiteboarding. It is crucial that you have it work well for you. If proper, it has as much say in how long you are out on the water as a correctly sized kite.

The waist harness is very body shape specific..If your torso`s not V shaped they`ll move about...doesn`t matter how tight you do it up either..
