I use the Recon bar with the power lock and I am so used to that now I have to have the power lock feature. Besides saving strength, it also allows me to ride one handed and I can pull and push on the bar to steer the kite. This is great for riding toeside. The cool thing about the power lock is that if you get hit by a really hard gust, you can unclip the bar and sheet out the kite instantly.

till this year I've never used fixed loop

now I try it from time to time but still not sure it give me much

here where I ride, winds are not stable
so when I'm in fixed loop and the gust came it feel like kicked by the horse while when on chicken it only pull my arms forward

I also afraid to jump fixed because it makes landing very powered - or should I in the last phase of jump unhooked from it?

I Ride the knot, Bar is set up for that, But there is a trade off, I cannot ride or launch unhooked. If need to dump the kite I have to pull the chickin loop pin.

Hi,
I ride foils with very low barpressure and low steering forces.
Absolute no need for a microhook or whatever.
For nohanded moves just open the adjuster.
Have fun,

I have tried two... but actually never really used one.

The first one was the (voluntary ?) blocking of the bar on a wipika bar 2 years old due to the tension of the back-lines on the plastic tube supposed to protect the depower-line... it was so horrible that I cutted the plastic tube and it worked well again.

The second one was the North micro-hook. Quite cool but there is so little bar-pressure on the new north that I don't really need it (except when really under-powered but I hate riding under-powered anyway...)

Lukas, you can unhook it before landing.
But normally I unhook when I just landed. The landings are not too hard being hooked in, if you don't steer the kite forward to early.

Hello friends,
been using Powerlock from Cabrinha since the first release.
I can't ride with anything else,,,, I stop using Cabrinha kites since 3 years but my powerlock bar fit any kite I'm using:
Naish, North, Airush and also Peter Lynn...
I can ride full power lock in, can depower almost istantly!! is so much easier to de lock then get out of a fix loop.
PERLOCK FOREVER.... I'm ony affraid they will break some day.
I even bougth the latest Cabrinha bar removed all the recon things, but I still prefere the Powerlock.
Bye Jankie

I use a Stage 2 Locking bar.
I still think it's the best locking bar because it locks in any position and you have a spinning leash.
The only thing is, as flamboyant says, is that you can be fully powered on suicide (unless you attach the suicide leash to the normal leash/5th line which I sometimes do).
