Posada Pelangre -- El Coche's Best Kept Secret

Jule,
You have more options then you'd think there
are from searching the net. For some reason
there is no information on this. There definately
are a couple of 'posada's' in
san pedro. The village a mile south of the
kite beach on El Coche.

Senor Luis, with fourty years of experience working
in the venezuelan oil feilds takes care of Posada Pelangre.
I found it to be really resonable and cheap.
The old man is a real gentle man too.

Do check these out before comiting yourself
without landing on coche first. It's next to the Iglesia ( Church )
in the village square. You can walk or take the
shared taxi's from the square everyday to the
beach. Also you could rent a locker at the
beach itself to keep your gear at. Instead of
hauling it to the village every day.

So once you get off the boat on coche
island. You'll find taxi cabs right there.
Tell anyone you need to go to 'Posada
Pelangre' and they'll drop you
outside the door in 4 minutes.

Hi guys,

I'm an australian backpacker who flies into Caracus late next week and am looking to get straight to one of the isles for a three week kite break before heading off to Boliv and Peru.

I'm looking for cheap accommodation and a good learning place with plenty of beach as I am only just on the board and not staying upwind yet. Looking for a double room.

Any help greatly appreciated hamish_travel@yahoo.com.au
