New to the forum.
15yrs of wakeboarding and some winsurfing. Next month I have 10 days holiday to learn this sport somewhere. Looking for good place to learn, hot weather, reliable wind, good nightlife, good hospitality, good food needed!
looking into Puerto Rico, Brasil, Venezuela but also want to know about Roatan (honduras) as I'm looking to invest there.
Anybody's advice and experience is welcome!

Alex is right!
Venezuela is a great spot - will have all that you're looking for!
You'll be spoiled, though!

In my opinion El Yaque is the perfect spot for learning.
You first take a course then you go by yourself with supervision:
They drop you with the boat on kitebeach (5km upwind) for a few $ and you just cruise downwind for 2 hours till you reach El Yaque beach where they pick you up in the sea (no need to land on the small beach). They will rescue you if something happens.
One run from kite beach till El Yaque is like a 3-day lesson on other places where you need to selfrescue, walk back, check lines, relaunch,...
But no night life in El Yaque. You can go to Porlamar for the fiesta
Hopes this helps
Frank.

For December:
Go to Isla Coche or Los Roques in Venuezuela or Brazil!
I did not like Puerto Rico very much...
Read my review for all these places here:
