Hi
Apart from Windang Island, does anybody know any good kiteboarding spots actually on Lake Illawarra, especially suitable for learning?

Dr Surf Australia is a regular poster on this forum. He is located a bit further south than Windang but may be able to help. Try his website at

Yes, we have some good places for learning in Jervis Bay and St Georges Basin which is only about 1.25 hrs south of Lake Illawarra. The water is much cleaner as well down here.
Phone me on 02 4443 7665 or check my web page
http://www.machelp.com.au/drsurf.html it has a downloadable map. I can tell you the best places to go in what wind direction.
We also tend to get more wind down here so if it's 8 knots at Lake Illawarra it's likely to be 15 knots here.
Have fun, Dave (Dr Surf Australia)
