The thing that keeps most people out the water in winter is the fact that it gets dark at 4:30pm so no more after work sessions.

Back to the original thread, I have a 5m maniac and the flying characteristics are not that different to the warrior, obviously I only use it very strong winds so you cant really compare it to my bigger warriors.

In the smaller sizes a less responsive kite is a big plus, also it can be nice to take out the valves in extreme conditions so you know that if all hell breaks loose you can put the kite in the water and it will stay there.

Maybe if you are going to be doing a lot of land based flying and want to save a few quid the maniac is a good bet, otherwise go for the warrior. IMHO
