Aloha kiteboarders,

How are you doing?!
I´m a young kiteboarder (14 years) from Holland(also The Netherlands) and I´m gonna buy the F.one Mach 1 but I don´t know wich size is good for me.

A little bit about myself:
I´m 54 kg, my homespot is Veluwe meer (meer=lake in english, it´s in the middel of the country between Gelderland and Flevoland, maybe the place Stand Horst or Hardewijk says a little bit more) without waves...sometimes little waves but you can´t call it waves. I ride on an Brunotti Board Twintip 160cm but maybe I´m gonna sell it this summer(of the begin of the summer) and buy a other board(but wich I don´t know; maybe a F.one wakeboard 142, or Brunotti Board Lord of Hellfire Twintip 155(like my board but is very thinner and smaller).

You know I like the 9.1 but if I read the manuel I´ll see it´s samular to the North 7.5/6.2, Airblast 6.3,Cabrinha BT 7.0,Slingshot Fuel 10 and that isn´t very big. But also the 9.5 ARX is samular to the 9.1 Mach 1 and that´s good.
But also I like the 12.1 because maybe I´m gonna ride a smaller board and is samular to the North 9.3/12, Airblast 8.4,Cabrinha BT 9.4,Slingshot Fuel 12 and Naish ARX 11.5(12.5).

Now is my guestion:
Which size do you recommend if you read my letter/topic?! The 9.1 or the 12.1?! And tell me please why do you think and what range of wind the both kites have for me in knots/bft!!

Thanks for everything and see you on the water!

Mahalo,
Jorrit
Ps sorry if my English isn´t very good, I´m 14 you know and I´m still learning...haha!

Can´t anybody help me?!
Please note what you think...even if you haven´t flown the kite, please.

Thanks,
Jorrit

Hi Jorrit,

what are your main winds?
Which kites did you ride before in which winds?
If you can get a smaller board asap (like 140-150cm), since you will have more fun with it. Then you need a bigger kite since you will improve very fast and need more pressure to get lifted.
But tell us more about kites and winds you used before.

Your English is great!!

Hi Toby,

Here the things what you want to know:
I have used a 4 line Naish AR3.5 7.0m2 before and want to ride in a windrange of 3/4bft-5 bft.
Something else you wanna know, just tell me!!

Rip Hard,
Jorrit

Hi,

if you already have a 7.0, keep it and don't get a 9.1, since the difference is too small to the 7.0.
The F-One doesn't pull as much as others of the same size (e.g. Rhino). So you can easily get the 12.1 for these windspeeds.
The F-One is a great kite you will have a lot of fun with it.

Keep flying!

Hi Toby,

Thanx for your reply but I was something forget to tell you.
I HAD a 7.0 but the Naish is selled and I haven´t that kite anymore.
I want to buy 1 kite because I don´t have a lot of money....do you think now that I take the 9.1 and not the 12.1?!?

Thanx Jorrit

ok, but considering the windspeed you will have more fun with the 12.1. In general 12 sqm have the largest wind range. Don't forget you will improve every day so you will be able to hold the kite in stronger winds. I just flew my 11.5 Arx in gusts up to 30 knts. It was hard, but it worked. So with your weight you should be able to fly it up to 20 knts one day.

can you compare the sizes and more importent the power of the kites on the maket, i find the mach -1 15.1 m equal to 13.5 arx and the north 16 equal to 15-14.5 m arx even though bouth kites are faster then the arx .
do you agree??

I have to agree.
Only the Rhino 16 has the same power as an ARX 15.5, in my opinion.
But the Mach1 15.1 doesn't have the pull of compared size like ARX 15. I agree to your comparison of ARX 13.5 to Mach 15.1.
The Rhno is a great kite, as well as the Mach 1.

Toby
