Has anyone used the Windtools Booster, and can give a report on the kite.

Cheers

Hi Macca,

I didn't try it myself yet, but some freinds of me did.
It flies ok,but isn't that great.
If you crash the kite, the battens can break.
If you fly the kite with the little tube at the back of the kite, then it doesn't fly good. Without the little tube it flies better, but if you drop it in the water, the back of the kite can sink and you will have problems relaunching it.

If I know more about it, I'll post it.

Keep on flying

Hey there,
i'll get the 12meter booster for testing tomorrow and will tell about it as soon as i get to fly this baby.
but i already got the first bad factor:

the 12m² booster comes in a bag which measures about 1.80m - so it's much bigger than any other kite-bag i know.
according to the windtools homepage, it can be packed smaller by removing the sail battens, but you still have to put these somewhere - the longest one should still be 1.80m long.

i expect some cool features from this kite - if i got everything right, you can actually trim it like a windsurf-sail which allows you to regulate the flying speed and lift.

i'll post more when i got it.

BOOSTER:

ok, here's what i think:
the 12m booster's packed 2m long!
the bar is no good (i heard the depower-shell breaks after 2 days and the bar-ends melt if u use the safety for 2 times) - the adjuster's out of arm's reach and only works in one direction and the leash is too short.

in the air, the booster's a rocket!
great upwind performance, good lift - fast turning speed, huge depower-range.

waterstart's a matter of luck - you may not get it back into the air, unless you fill the front-tube twice as hard as you are used to - but i think you'll risk to blow it.

so if you want the booster, buy it kite-only and use for example the airblast-stuff!

if you have any questions just ask.....

greetings
