shop, school, teamrider, company, representative
simple and clear. Anyone I miss?
If we come into a grey area it is up to a decision. But for sure the above.

Affiliated means that you either get your kites cheaper from the brand or via a shop(shoprider deal) or if you are working for the brand or if you are a shop or distributor selling this brand. Also if you shift the gear out of the back of your van.
If you are paying full price for your stuff and don't get any favours from the brand or a shop, then post to your hearts content without having to worry about anything.
Here is where the grey area comes up. Do you have to prove that you are the latter one? Will you have to submit info or documentation in order to prove this? I really don't like pimping, but there is the risk of cancelling and embarrassing people with no proof. No, I don't pimp for anybody (at least I don't think so), but Ed is right, where do you draw the line? Toby?
K66
I don't think anyone has to prove anything and it would be impossible to investigate.
We will hopefully all be honest enough to own up to our affiliation.
I don't think there are any grey areas. Get any favours from a shop or brand then put it in your profile. Simple

If I recall, the signatures got way out of hand. People were making them as long as they wanted, embedding images, links, etc. It got to the point that it took longer to load a thread and was annoying to read a thread because of all the signature crap you had to filter through.
Now, if the forum software could limit signatures to one line of text (no links, no images), that may be worth it. But I like the profile idea. It doesn't have to be in everybody's face, but if you want to know of an affiliation, just click on their name and you'll find it.

Forums will ALWAYS have pimps and abusers. Creating rules to regulate something that cant be regulated ends up being a waste of time.
For example, lets say I was one of these evil pimps who are brainwashing the forum users, and I was making millions on giving out biased info. Do you really think that if my intentions were to pimp for profit, that I would let a "rule" stop me? We are all anonymous. You only know what I tell you. I say Im a tall white guy from TX, but I might really be a short brown girl from Brazil. If someone is trying to appear non-biased in order to sell biased information, why would you depend on their integrity to list affiliation? Again if I was trying to be deceitful, I could just as easily lie about my affiliation. And, if im discovered, I just mask the IP and create a new user. Pimping is alot easier than policing pimping.
Bottom line, is all information on here is subject to opinion, so bias shouldnt really affect how one takes the info given. The best thing you can do if you dont like someones opinion or bias is to ignore them. Toby should be spending his time delivering more of his brand of websites that we all love and use, rather than policing something that is truly not inforcable.

I agree with the ID. I kind of think the drama is humorous most of the
time. The key, as with most things in life, is not to take it personally.
It will be interesting to see who complys, those with multiple b.s. ID's. I
know who I will be watching, some who I know are full of shit and have
multiple posting IDs to pimp there shit( and I am not talking about best).
I believe that the Bestie boys are taking a beating on these
forums, maybe more harm than good. Its the b.s. wipika posters that I
watch and laugh(pimps while hidding).
I feel its not really needed but do as you wish Toby your the guy.

Funny choice Tony,
in the past, I made a joke with the publicity of best I replaced hellfish by jelly fish. 10 minutes after the post was canceled. And you Tony, what is your brand?
