Foldable board? Easy to carry when travelling or on a bike..

Postby kitango » Thu Jun 08, 2006 5:50 pm

Hi

has anyone thought of or heard of creating a board that can be folded or made up of 2 conencting parts? would be great when travelling by plane or when carrying gear on a motorbike!!!

appreaciate potential loss of flex etc. but I guess it is an engineering problem like any other so it can be solved (think bycicles, pool, etc.)

just a thought... interested in reactions...

Thanks for posting this. We were just talking about this on the FKA site. I wasn't aware that something like this existed yet.

Do you know how much it sells for and do you have an email for the business? Sorry for these obvious questions but my hebrew is non-existant and the search engine that I could find doesn't autotranslate websites.

Thanks!

That carbon board looks awesome.
A another design idea would be a board that does not separate at the center, instead the board's tips would be removable making the board just small enough for a backpack. IMO on TT's, the center to in-between your feet is the weakest area, and should be solid as can be if you plan on landing big airs....not a good place to bisect.

if it does break in the middle then you just replace the center pins and not all of thr board...
from what i have seen most boards that break break between the footpad and the tip. closer to the footpad.

There you go:

Folding kiteboard

Dimensions:
Length: 125 Cm
Width: 38 Cm
Weight: 2.4 Kg including accessories
100% carbon
PVC foam core (Herex)

Thin board, 12 mm at the center and 8mm at the tips, allows maximal edging and fast cruising in full control.
Lengthwise carbon beam.

Fast board suitable for a wide wind range.
Can be ordered with custom graphics by an artist.

Level: Advanced, pro
Can be ordered in any size.
