Cats and dogs,
Apples and oranges,
Whatever you choose,
you wont loose.
Learn from one,
go to the other.
That's about it,
WTF brother?
KG
p.s.please send donations so I can buy myself ALL the new kites this year.

Ride what you want as long as you have fun! That is the only thing that matters! Get out there and do it on your foil or on your LEI, or on both, as long as it works for you it's good.
No reason to bash and be ugly to others on the subject. Everyone have different preferences and that's a good thing.
I have spoken.

It's not a case of cats and dogs or apples and oranges.
Ram airs and inflats are both kites, both performing with the expectation of certain flight characteristics:
-Jumping
-Hangtime
-Stability
-Control
-Turning speed
-Stability in rotors and gusts
As well as:
-Ease of setup and packup
-Ease of relaunching
-Ease of maintenance
On ALL of these criteria, inflatables are superior.
It's not a matter of comparing apples to oranges: It's comparing apples (inflats) to lemons (rams).

the ram air might have been responsible for his facial fractures.

What about the safety issues, you mentioned Chris Calthorp's accident for example?

chris's injuries were caused by him wiping out and face planting his split tail board at 40mph he had already released the kite totally
