Long time.

Need an advice: I "lost" my board two weeks ago (someone picked it up for me), that was a nice TT174 from Fone.

I got over it, and I now want to buy a TT board again. Frankly, I was happy with the Fone, but I never tried any other board! What are the good models this year, that you'd recommend I look into?

My design preferences go to the Fone TT174 board, or the Wipika Eclipse. Are those good boards?

as far as i know, toby should still be at lake neusiedl (theres a worldcup)...

i only heard good things about the f-one boards ....

if you have the possibility, try to test the underground boards, the lewis - wakes, the x-shooter ... well there are lots of good boards


an important thing:
length is not important - the rockerline and with does it!

yesterday i couldn't ride my 160cm twintip, while a 147 wakeboard worked like hell ...

I don't know your skills, but if you already are going upwind or can control the kite, go small.
There is no need to get a board bigger than 160 cm. You could be able to have lots of fun with boards like 140-150cm.
They start early and are so much fun to play around with.
Guys nowadays are lucky when starting, they have all this nice gear available, while I was using these damn directionals ( )
End of last year I switched to TT in wakestyle and they work great!
Carving, jumping, going upwind, fast moves while jumping are no problem.
Now I ride an X-Shooter, which is a new brand, but excellent board.

So, don't go too big, it would be a step in the wrong direction!

Thank you both for your advice. I was considering getting back into 174cm board, but I willdefinitely look into the smaller boards.

I love the estethics of the FONE TT170 and the WIPIKA Eclipse159. Anyone has good/bad experience with those?

I got an Eclipse 159 demoboard first. Could test it for a couple of weeks. I was still wondering if 159 would not be too small for me.

After riding the Eclipse 159 and a Slingshot Drake 147 in the surf, the choice was easy: Drake 147.

I'm only 72kg's and the Drake feels more like a waveboard where the Eclipse felt more like a slalomboard(In windsurf-language) Ehmmm, the Drake feels more skaty, alive. And gives me more control to handle the power of my Rhino's(16 + 9.3) when overpowered. Also the Drake tracks better and gives more backlegpressure(due to 6 fins?) which I like very much. Only when I would weight >90kg, the Eclipse 159 would be an option.

When looking at the length, I do agree with Toby. Never thought that a 147cm board would be THE choice(I started kiting less then a year ago!) for me.

I have a F-One TT 170 board. It is a very good board. I've learned back flips and front flips and going mega air in just about four weeks with the TT 170 after I sold my F-one directional board. It's also a great board for the waves. I have just order a new TT 142 F-one board. I think you will outgrow the TT-170 very fast. Maybe you should buy a TT 142 instead of the TT 170. But in low winds condition I think the TT 170 will do better.

Will find a way to try the boards out. My candidates left are: Fone170/142, Eclipse159 and Drake.
