I like the individual bladders for individual bladder control. Less complicated and less risk of all bladders leaking at once..... making a real mess of the swimming pool.....
I could argue that, because most of my older kites have had issues with valve leaks, so you are just as likely to have a leak on a non-1 pump kite as a 1 pump.

My old kites haven't had a problem with valve leaks so far. They stay pumped up nice and hard, or so my GF tells me. I just fear the one time that they might suffer bladder leaks and decimate a really good session by going limp and flaccid at the apex of the enormous leap of faith. :-?

But, if the manufacturers got it down to a science where they can isolate the leaks so as not to spoil the whole session, then I'd try one. Would it keep it hard for more than 4 hours in the event of a leak? I've heard that that could be dangerous.

I guess it is one valve for the main bladder, and then one flation point for the struts.

For me one point flation is the way more ocnvenient. The octopus system is cleanly designed, and works like a charm.

One pump is awesome! I just bought a 9m Shockwave for a very small price and love everything about it. The octupus system is so cool! Easiest inflating and deflating that I have every done.
Later,

One Inflation point that does all the struts and another that does leading edge.

I've used an SS One Pump, and can't get the struts to the same pressure as I could on other kites with individual inflation.

Octopus system is nice. Better than the One Pump but still not what I'm really looking for. Same problem.

With the leading edge hooked into the same system as the struts I think this is what hinders the pressure in the struts.

All though North has never finished the 2 pump system, and I think Best may have played around with one for a while no one has yet to make one.

Maybe a 2 pump system still won't cut it when trying to get your struts rock hard that's why we have never seen one.

pretty crazy really ,
To me whatever it takes to have rigid and functioning airframe.
I'm never in such a hurry I can't take time to have my kite the way I like it .
That said I don't want a fifth line slicing my kite up in the waves nor do I want a floppy canopy and IF struts help and don't stick though the canopy when I crash in the WAVES so be it .
Constucting a wing that is self supporting and rigid(water relaunch) and controls luffing are the most important to have fun,
IMHO :thumb:
