100% Depower for every Tube-C-Kite

Postby Paraflysurf » Mon Oct 09, 2006 8:26 pm

This is not a COMMERCIAL, it is an INFO.

If you like your C-Kite but also want the 100% depower of Bow-Kites, there is a solution.
It is called DPS-Depower-Pulley System and it has been developed by paraflysurf.ch !
With the DPS-System you can trim your C-Kite down to 100% Depower.
The DPS is integrated in the bar. So you need just one bar with the DPS-System to convert all your “old“
C-kites to 100% depower. All you need on your kite is a connector for a 5th Line.
You can as well use the pump-connector that is mounted on nearly all kites on the market.

With the DPS your kite will turn faster and more direct than before in high rates of depower and even in 100% depower you can easily steer your kite.

If you are interested, there will be a detailled report in the next Kite&Friends-Snowkite-Special Magazine that is going to be released soon (November).

100% Depower for Tube-C-Kites

Postby Paraflysurf » Mon Oct 09, 2006 9:58 pm

I dont want to switch to a commercial because Toby will kick me out.

The price is not already fixed, but depending on your bar it is planned to be between 80,- and 120,- EUR.

I know you're not going commercial on this site or anything, but if you do, it's not accurate to have 100% depower. The only way you can have 100% depower is to get rid of the kite.

Here are a number of mods which will give you 100% depower for any C kite when applied correctly:

[quote="Paraflysurf"]This is not a COMMERCIAL, it is an INFO.

"It is called DPS-Depower-Pulley System and it has been developed by paraflysurf.ch !"

Is this DPS system a variation of the "dynamic 5th" line system or "mechanical 5th" line system that has been discussed on Kiteforum for about 3 years?

If so, it will have the pulley that the 5th line runs through, below the bar and above the chicken loop.

Does the system have the following characteristics:

(1) Ability to spin the bar without twisting the lines?
(2) Ability to adjust the 5th line "on the fly"?
(3) Ability to release the 5th line in case of entanglement around the kite?
(4) Is the system just for snow kite use?

If so, then the system can be used to extend the life of many old "C" kites, by giving them somewhat the large depowering capacity of the modern SLE/Bow flat kites.

Please give us a picture or diagram of the system. I don't think too many of us will be able to get a copy of the magazine.

Here are some links to past discussion of different types of 5th line systems:

yeah so... rrd has had this on kites for 3 years now... infact rrd had the first big depower kite ever.... the problem is if it doesnt have 15 pullies on it kiteboarders dont like it. Its a fact that the genius of the totald depower bar can not quench the thirst of the kiteboarding consumers need for more pullies and shittier kites..
