How come lots of wakers end up down wind whats the secret for staying up wind with a wakeboard and a 2 line kite ?????????

I don't use wakeboards, but wakeboard style.
Most import is to not let the kite control you. You should control the kite, which means never become too fast and letthe kite pull you too much so you will loose your grip/edge. Go slower but always edged hard.
If a gust hits, edge even more.
Turn your body in the direction you want to got to.
This way you should be able to go upwind.

The other thing is that wakes need alot of POWER! You can handle alot of power on a wake, but you also NEED alot of power to get that small board to get up and going.

I ride foils, so it's the same as two line kites. You have to have power, stomp the kite (by edging) to be able to go upwind.

it's simply not true that you need so much more wind with a wakeboard.

a friend of mine rides a 1.47 wakeboard which is gliding really early!

i use a 1.34 wake which goes upwind as soon as there's enough power to park the kite and ride behind it.
it's just more feeling necessary - if you edge too hard, the kite looses its power, if you're too soft, you won't go upwind.
