no way.

this might happen @ contests or kitesurf-jams and stuff like that.

but there simply will not be enough kitesurfers (always keep in mind: kitesurfing = extreme-sportz) to crowd every beach.

It is an impressive sight and a daunting one. Does anyone know if any kite lines were accidently wrapped around each other while in flight during the contest?

Hi Murdoc

I don't agree that kitesurfing is an extrem sport at all! Why do you think so?

well kitesurfing - i mean including going upwind - requires enough kite-power to do so.
a kite, big enough to ride upwind is able to lift you up if misused.

if you're busy wrapping the leash around your foot while hooked into the harnessloop and the kite goes down at the edge of the wind-window and you're afraid to drop it and steer it back too quick you'll have a serious problem.

just to name one.

if you go to a shop to get yourself a kitesurfing-equipment, you'll easily leave about $3000 there [2 kites, one board, wetsuit, harness and stuff]

i think that many windsurfers (i mean the guys having fun in 25+knots) will convert to kitesurfing,

but all the daddies, having a 3m board lying on their mobile homes - surfing 3 weeks on vacation each year won't start kiteboarding.

Murdoc, maybe just these old daddy's will start kiting, so they will have the time of their life within these 3 weeks.
Imagine, how you would improve going out every day for three weeks! They will never with windsurfing!
And don't forget: maybe they are old, but "je oller, je doller" (the older the more they want....) or call it "second spring"

Hi,
when i was starting with kitesurf, and stood quite helpless on the shore of a small lake in France,
there was this 60+ year old french man who did better jumping than the young local guys...
..meanwhile his wife prepared dinner at the campingcar.
Impressive,
Hope my bones will be still fine for kiting
in this age.
