A Lightwind "Porker" IS BORN.

Postby XSwind » Sat May 12, 2007 8:16 pm

I am getting excited.

Just finished laying-out and the cutting of the outline and routing templates for my new light wind summer machine.

The rocker is going to be based on the rocker dimensions of my previous boards which have been brilliant in the light stuff and for fast and early planning.

The outline however is going to be all new for this year.

So the vital statistics are 137 x 43 with a 3 stage rocker profile.
Still not sure on the concave though, will have to have a beer and think about that one.

I am also thinking hard about what to skin it with, should I use my spare Karbon/Armid 200gm cloth? or maybe some nice shiny "Holographic" carbon cloth.

Ohh choices, choices, choices and more choices.

I will post pics once completed in a week or so.

Regards
XS.

The core has been profiled and shaped with the inserts fitted.

Just fin blocks to cast then hopefully laminating the bottom tonight.

Well decided to use a normal carbon on the bottom and the Holo Graphic carbon on the top.

You just need to see this stuff, flat and in the sunlight to really appreciate the look.

The latest is the "Porker" is in the bag.

I am all finished laminating and bagging.

Tomorrow I have about an hour and a half work to do to finish it.

Locate and drill out the inserts and fin locators. I use a template for this and it makes it so easy and quick.

Then it's just a matter of removing the flashing and it's done.

Latest...

I have been really busy over the past few days and not had time to finish the board off.

I will hopefully try tp finish it in the next few days and post some finished pics by the end of the week.

I finally got around to taking the flash off the Porker last night (after trying to get around to it for a week) and thought I would post some more in-progress photos.

Absolutly no polishing or sanding has been done so far, only a quick bash around the outline with an angle grinder.

Going to drill the fins and strap inserts in the next day or so and will post pics one she is completed.

You got to love our sport.

XSwind,

Very nice looking board, in fact its awesome... How does it ride?
Did you put concave in it?
What does it weigh in LBS?
