Cheapest pads to be had are the foam floor tiles sold at hardware stores like Lowes and Home Depot. They come in a package of 2' x 2' squares with interlocking edges. Cut them to your desired shape with a skil knife and round the edges with coarse sandpaper.

Haven't found any cheap straps yet, so I keep recycling old straps from other boards.
