[quote="Lord of the Boards"]I cut out the board. I took the left-over from around the board and cut 5 mm off it (5mm bigger than the board). I put the core in it again and taped the bottom, so ÃÂ

Yes, with epoxy I mean epoxy resin. For the rail I've added some pigment to color the resin red.

For laminating the glassfibre, I also used epoxy resin.

How did you make the rails from epoxy?

The best way to make the epoxy rail, is to make a groove in your core with the shape of the outline. Then you can just fill the groove up with epoxy.

If the rail has hardened, you flip over the board and shape it thinner at the rails.

It´s not difficult to do, but it´s difficult for me to explain it in english. I don´t have any pictures of it.

Maybe someone else can explain it better?

Or you can router the slot all the way through and then put duct tape on the bottom to prevent the epoxy from leaking out. Then remove the tape and sand you epoxy rails to desired final shape.

A lot of new boards are coming through with a hard vertical rail between the straps with the rails softer and rounder nearer the tips.
