Speed 2 Litewind Soul Session Kitecam video

Postby FredBGG » Thu Jun 14, 2007 7:25 am

Just posted a little video of a nice litewind Soul Session on the Speed 2 19 and Spleene Door 164. The wind was low 8-10 mph and there's a nice close encounter with a Dolphin 8). There were quite a few Dolphins roaming around.

How do you fixed your camera on a FlySurfer ?
Do you use the camrig that you some how modified ?
Could you provide a picture of the attachement of the camero on the Speed 2.

Basically, I am planning to buy a camrig (I have a Contra 14 and a Nova) but for light wind I have also a Speed 17.
I am wondering how to fixed the camera on the Speed.

Check foilzone, fred posted a thread about how he rigged the camrig with a cross of a couple of carbon rods.
Any issues with using the rig Fred? I imagine you'd want to avoid crashes and land carefully. :thumb:

No problems.

Dropped the kite twice with with the camera on and the elastic setup worked fine. First time nothing happeded at all, the second time the camera twisted a bit and was shooting way off to the side.

As far as landing goes either reverse the kite down down wind or if possible have someone catch it at the side of the wind window.

One important thing is that with the camera pointing straight up into the sky as you get ready to launch you could damage the sensor if it's pointing into the sun. What I do is put an opaque plastic bottle top in the whole for the lense in the camrig. When the kite goes up it falls out. I pick it up or have a friend pick it up....no littering!

Cheers

Off topic,

Mark where do ride in Tokyo? Is that Chiba? I've been hitting kemigawahama a lot recently, and wondered where you ride. Always looking for kiting buddies...gaijin kiters are few and far between here.

thanks,

j

If you were to tell some old black blues musician that the definition of SOUL was a Hollywood photographer scooting around in the wind on the surface of the ocean with 3 thousand dollars worth of pvc and nylon he'd probably shit a rattlesnake that would then hopefully proceed to bite same said photographer on the ass.

Chemo Your posts are priceless....

Your right SOUL is far more profound...

Heard a piece yesterday on the radio...quite something.

It's a track on Joshua Redman's last album.

It's a one take recording played and writen by Joshua's father and the last song he recorded before passing away...

Cheers

You two are twits!!

You are talking about "soul MUSIC"

He is talking about "Soul surfing" A long accepted term.

Soul has a much more profound definition.

Anyway, back to the vid. I thought it was really good, especially the Dolphin shot.

However, the wind looks more like 10-12knots to me! Which is more like 15 MPH !

There are clearly some large whitecaps. They don't even start till 10 knots(12mph)

Why do foil users make ridiculous false LOW wind claims?

Why do some inflato pimps use ridiculous false HIGH wind claims?
