Sideways pull isn't a good thing for buggying..... well not if you wanna go upwind fast...
but for kitesurfing it comes in handy...
When I use my C Quads for buggying I set the brake lines pretty slack so the kite sits forward more...
I've had a go with my friends 3m blade II and the sideways pull is quite high... the Blade incidently is quite a handy kitesurfing kite as they have lot's of lift....

As i said before Blades are a great kite and they do have a lot of power and if you are wanting an all round kite to have plenty of fun with its a great starter.
However if you are going to specify in one area (buggying or kitesurfing ) then you need to purchase a kite to do that particular
activity. At the moment I am getting started on kitesurfing and have bought a Flysurfer De
12m and i would'nt dream of using a buggy kite for the same purpose.

I use a flexi 02 buggy, 1.5, and 2.1 lil devils, and a 2.5 Razor. The control of the razor is awesome. It depowers with minimal input then will fully power instantly. I have retired several kites infavor of the ozones.

Blade 2 4m
Looking for a second smaller kite for my chick so she can use buggy & board. Looking for something in the 2.5-3m range that doesn't lift like the Blade. I could also use it when the wind picks up - Any advice???
radman,
I've no doubt at the moment it has to be the Bullet. Very stable, very controlable kite, with little vertical pull, The 3.5 gives about the same pull as a 3 blade.
Cheers

Flysurfer Maniac 7.mt
Kheo flyer
Maniac has good depower and can be used as asurfing kite - also good on wet beaches - wet and muddy blades seem not to fly well whereas it doesn't seem to bother the maniac
