This guy is "only" three times World Champion, I think his opinion deserves some respect!

So basically, "I like the way they feel"

Valid defense for riding any style of kite...

I think it's fair enough, he didn't knock them he just said he prefered C's over them. Remember he's been brought up on C's and as he put it, he wants a kite he knows.

"just the way they work, so different and I thinks it's quite hard to get used to that "

basically as once stated...
it will obviously take some time before the top pro riders get used to the higher efficiency, pop, lift, depower...

Give them time...

Did you see the loop section further up.... must be hanging out with Lenten!! :o

The bits that are ALWAYS left out are:

Aaron and the other Pros have unlimited kites and sizes to choose from.
Some have 1metre increments ! A luxury that most recreational kiters can't have !

They spend all their time in windy, ideal kiting spots.

So their kite prefference does not really mean much to the average Joe rider.

Maybe he is just being nice and being political and doesn't want to say anything bad because he is a sponsored pro? What do you think he is going to say "bows suck ass"?

I suspect he could adapt and take advantage of any kite in about one or two days at most. You guys really underestimate the skill level of a three time world champ by suggesting he couldn't figure out how to get every drop of potential out of a bow in short order.

Maybe. Or maybe he said what he meant. What clue do you have that he believes anything other than exactly what he said?

the topic refers to the video Equipment - Bow Hybrid i assume.
Nothing too special about it.

Sure, but what'd he say? Basically, "bows are not for me". He said they had their pros and cons, but that he was dialed into C's. Not surprising, and hardly newsworthy.

In point of fact, most of us are so far from World Champ caliber that it's not evident to me that we're necessarily looking for the same things in a kite that a top level competitor looks for.

Personally, I don't have a horse in this race. I've ridden C's for the last 5 1/2 years. Just got my first non-C about a week ago. I like my new kite, but you can't imagine how little I care what the next guy rides.

Aaron seemed to stess the fact that he liked his C for kiteloops specifically.

I am never going to do a kiteloop ! Well,not intentially !

It will be interesting to here what Spork has to say about his new Bow..oops sorry ! SLE kite (Bow with a straight back edge)

Will he think its the best thing since sliced bread? Will it be toast? Or will it be "toast"
