If I had a dollar for every post argueing about patents on kiteforum.....

Seriously, can someone tell me why the patent thing excites people? Maybe this whole site should be changed to bowpatents.com?

I don't get the fascination. To me it has nothing to do with kiting.

They should have probably put the word "patent" in the thread title so you would have known not to bother with the thread - or bother the folks that are interested in this.... oh wait...

You really expect someone to publicly comment on a court case he is involved in? From the passion that you have on this subject I would have guessed Bruno infringed your patents :)

Recently we have win our lawsuit in appeal against Globerider for infringement of our patents (C-kite and 4-line kite and bar). They are condemned to pay euros 100.000 as damages.

Another lawsuit should soon end and give the same result. (won in “first instanceâ€Â

Pretty harsh and unfounded words there Bruno. I've been through some patent battles as well. And I know that we fear them tremendously because they're little better than a coin toss even when the case is clear-cut. You must have a pretty bizarre idea of God in your country. In the U.S. understanding patent law would not qualify you for that title.
I suggest you to consider that you may not understand or know everything about patent laws and rules and that you shut up.
Oh really? You suggest that I shut up? I've never attacked you, nor have I defamed you, or even spoken innaccuratlely about your patent claims. I don't claim to know everything about patent law, but I do know a good deal. I certainly know enough to be able to say that to infringe a patent you must infringe EVERY aspect of at least one claim. The Cabrinha kite I own definitely does not infringe the patent it licenses. Your unfounded attack on me is not the wisest idea. I've not attacked you. In fact what I have done is credited you with having done more than perhaps anyone else to develop this sport that we love. But I'll now be more than happy to lend my expertise to any kite company that feels you're strong arming them into paying patent royalties where none are due. I'll do this without fee. Consider that an open invitation.

I'll ask you again... do you claim to have invented the inflatable kite?

OK Spork, you beat me :bye:

Why should I reply that question when you know the reply ? You wrote it in this same topic, don't you remember ? So what the point ???
Incidentally, the bros didn't invent the inflatable kite - don't even claim to have.
:bye:

You should be rewarded for your work. Too bad, not all are thinking this way.
I know how it feels, if few people just take and don't give back...

Thanks
Toby
Agreed :thumb:
But Toby,
would you delete this thread for the respect of everybody!
These kind of Patent bashings and questions are not public matter.
It should be very private IMO.
