Seems to be a lot of interest in the FD. (Fridge Door) So here it goes. The FD138
is only a few centimetres wider than the Dinner Tray DT151 but the
tail widths are not even in the same ball park. The FD almost
maintains a parallel rail right to the ends where the DT curves in
quite a bit to give a nice taper. The board would be no thicker than
15mm at its thickest point and the rocker is much flatter.
When I lay the FD on the ground the 1.5" fins keep the board well off
the ground as opposed to the DT which with similar fins sits o its
belly and rocks with the fins not touching the ground.
The FD is a wierd looking board when you watch someone ride one from
a distance, because it does seriously resemble a Fridge Door, I
believe the wide tails and extra width help it to get going in super
light winds, not to mention the nearly flat bottom.
The board planes early, is fast and easy to rail and has plenty of
pop when doing wake style jumps. The width in the tails also helps
support the rider in low speed landings from transitional jumps.
