Naish torch

Postby Bagels9000 » Sat Aug 11, 2007 10:47 pm

Where i kite is pretty damn gusty, lately someone has been influencing me to get a quiver of naish torches.

wind can go from 12-30 knots with the quite often reading of nothing.

Right now i have a rebel which gives me some problems.

what does everyone think of the kite? and should i switch from hybrid to C? and i weigh 150lbs does a 10 and a14 m kite quiver sound good?

I think you'd be crazy to go to torches where you ride..

dude chill out...

the truth is the wind doesnt fluxuate that badly, i meant its really gusty and the wind can reach 30 knots at times.

lull and gust can be 13-20 knots most diffrence

Do other people in the area fly C kites? if so, YES the torch will definetly do!
Infact, im pretty sure that if you're already kiting there, then a torch will certainly do! Go for the Double-Depower setup & you'll be covered for it all!
Sizes...depends how much you weigh. Im 70kgs, & have a 12m and 9m & thats pretty much all i need (could have a 7m for CRAZY days tho...)

It depends what kind of kite you prefer. Compared to older C kites the Torch has loads more range and handles gusts better, but compared to SLEs it doesn't. I prefer the SLEs as they have much better range and handle gusts better.

If you are into hardcore freestyle and prefer the feel of a C kite go with a Torch, if you are more of an intermediate and are looking for the most user friendly then go for a SLE.

Don't bother with he DD bar, the kite has so much range that a normal Shift bar is sufficient.....plus the 5th line can get jammed with the DD bar making relaunch harder.
It is a nice to have, but if you are using the DD alot then you need a smaller kite.

no1 in the area flies c's except for me and from time you might see an outsider comin with a C. but the spots backed with best waroos and ozone intincts, edges, sprts and lites.

i think the new torch is very easy in our gusty spot because of the depower it is depowering like an sle shape. i was a riding an ozone instinct it almost have the same depower! im gonna let bagelhead try my 10 torch3 and see what he thinks for me its an ultimate freestyle kite it turns perfectly tahts 10m though. im actually tradin my 7m torch3 for a 7m waroo cuz my torch 7 was little to fast. but it had greattt pop and hangtime. ive had every naish torch 07 has been the best in relaunch, depower and pop, it has the widest windrange as well. im very suprised.
