Watch out! Apparently, knots weaken the line by up to 50% of its strength.
A technique I read about and used (it works well) is the following: chew on the knot until it becomes soft, then you can open it again. Your teeth should be round enough not to damage your flying lines.
Lots of luck,
Nico

Definately get the knot out it will weaken the line and make it slightly shorter!
Another good tip is to tap the knot gently with a hammer (I'm serious) I heard about this somewhere and tried it and it actually works!
