G'day Toby,

congrates. What kite was Sky and Ken flying, can I assume the new Rhino or was it the old '07?

Just curious!

cheers,

Robert.

I cannot say more about the performance of the Speeds, since we were just racing in lighter winds. I didn't jump, only once with the 19...which hangs like crazy!

Sky and Ken had prototypes of whatever that is...since Rebels and Vegas 2008 are already finished, it should be the Rhino08. Both are on race directionals.

Yep, that SA2 is a monster in light winds!! What were the winds Toby, and how much current was there?

What sized kites were most others using? 16m bows? 20m?

It seems like you'd have a real advantage using such a powerful kite in light winds, but I'd be curious to see how it does in higher winds of say 20+ knots.

Either way it says alot about the performance of the SA2 in light winds.

Awesome job guys, congrats!

I think Sami, winning all 3 races, was on a 15 Waroo.
Sky and Ken on prototypes, no idea which size. But 14-20 sqm kites where used.
Paul Caswell had a Contra 18sqm.

Here the wind report:
http://windfinder.com/wind-cgi/stations ... 2007-08-19

But this is not really accurate. I would say it is all one Bft more, so we had around 14 knots. Currents maybe 2 knots.

Yes, stronger winds will be a different story, maybe. Hard to say, but we will see. I'm also looking forward to this situation, to see if rankings will change.
Bruno is 6th, but he said he had no chance with his biggest kite...once he has wind, he rushes back to top for sure.

would it be possible for you to get some more detailed pictures of the gear the guys are using?

hi boogie,
seems as if there is a lot of work for you in the next years because every board needs 4 fins
