slingshot bar thing?

Postby lurmus » Mon Sep 24, 2007 10:01 am

Does anyone have a close up photo on this thing? Im thinking of changeing the nts system on the nova bar for this thing, coz it looks clean and smal. Is it made of rubber/plastic? are the holes in it the same diameter? is it a standard part used in anything else (cars for example) or is it specially made for kite?

best regards

Could not imagine where to find it on a car.I have a guess wehre you could find something similar, but this is not the forum to discuss that! Never found any sue for it as it relies on two ropes going though the bar

ok, thanks!

Guess its a bit hard to modify the nova2bar with that :( It looks nice i must say. The nts is nice to and i like it but its a bit clumsy compared to that.

i would call this the easiest and best working stoperball (pls correct me if im wrong!!!)

when only the white slider is used you can rest your bar on it-it will not slide up. if the force gets too big or you want the kite depowered you can push the bar with the white slider away.

when the red ball is placed over the slider the whole thing is not movable anymore.

i think the advantage of that white monkeykites slider compared to the SS stopper is that you can still push out the bar when needed :)

its also very easy to instalkl on a 2-line depowerline

Look at this thread, great working stopper.

I made it from teflon plastics... Usually are made from nylon or maybe ABS plastic...

Search the site a little, I have closeups somewhere... ;)

monkey slider? wtf? correct me if i wrong but u can get that red ball and white slider peice from any boating store, i hardly think its a "monkey slider" where as slingshot actually moulded theres for that purpose.

p.s. the slingshot one is actually better because the 2 ropes stay closer together when in use which stops the rope wearing out as quick when the bar rests up against the stopper.
