to give credit where credit is due, the waroo came out priced right and sold a lot of kites. it's a good kite nonetheless, but the new TD2 is much much improved over the TD1. hence the nervousness tone in sq's post. lol.
here's some specific differences or similarities that might help to decide.
price: TD2's are on sale at most all dealers, so the price difference is almost nil.
range: the TD2's are a bow style kite...similar to crossbows...hence when overpowered, you'll be much more solid with the TD2 and able to ride out gusts with speed. waroos tend to get overpowered in the gusts. guys will say they have tons of range, but they might have to slow down to get that range. so it's a false range.
construction: both of the newer models are made well. SS has always had a great reputation of build quality.
service: both are very good here also.
bar pressure: TD 2 is light for a bow kite, but the waroo is lighter.
these 2 kites are really not the same kite. if you want a kite that has the most range and jumps really really well, go with the TD2. if you want a lighter bar pressure, then the SS Rev is the choice for SS or the waroo if you so choose.
you ask about a 9m, 11m or 13m... what are the winds?
I'd go 9m and 14m TD2 and they are super powerful on the low end as you said.
Very fun kites to ride.
